Religiosity and Immanent Justice Reasoning: A Replication Study in Japan and the <scp>U.S.</scp>

Previous studies have investigated the importance of religiosity in enhancing peopleʼs justice reasoning, yet findings been limited to Western culture, where a majority people believe Christianity. In order investigate effect cultural difference and on immanent we compared contrasted degree engagement reasoning regarding someoneʼs misfortune among American Christians, Japanese Buddhists, nonreligious participants two cultures. The analysis found that Americans, those who believed Christianity engaged stronger toward an unfortunate person with lower moral values than did without particular faith. Japanese, other hand, showed for values, regardless their addition, when had low value, tended engage such more strongly Americans. Our results religious beliefs may contribute strengthening but generalization not be accurate
